FlexRay Rounds Out The tresos® Automotive Standard Core
Erlangen, April 17, 2007

In addition to CAN (Controller Area Network) and LIN (Local Interconnect Network), also FlexRay is now available as an integrated component of the tresos® Automotive Standard Core from Elektrobit. The tresos® ECU thus supports all important bus systems in the car, in addition to CAN and LIN.

With the FlexRay integration in the tresos® ECU configuration framework, Elektrobit not only closes the gap in future-oriented bus systems in the car, but in the future, it will also be possible to undertake the basis configurations of the FlexRay stack within the tresos® ECU tooling. In a tuned tool chain with the FlexRay DESIGNER ASR design tool from DECOMSYS, AUTOSAR configurations can be easily imported and expanded.

For optimal implementation of applications which must run time-synchronized with the FlexRay bus, the solution integrated in tresos® ECU offers important advantages for the user. Therefore, for example, the configurations of all participating modules - OS, RTE and the FlexRay modules - can be kept consistent. This is made possible by the severing of inter-modular dependences, which can be described within tresos® by simple XML expressions. This means that applications developers can rely on the consistence and currentness of the data received by the FlexRay.

FlexRay is regarded as one of the most important bus systems in the car, since it allows deterministic data traffic between different components in the car. The decentralized clock synchronization of the FlexRay standard enables time-synchronized applications over several control units.

With the implementation of the AUTOSAR Standard Core and the tresos® ECU development platform, Elektrobit Automotive offers the potential for developing and configuring AUTOSAR-conformant standard software, now based on FlexRay as well as on CAN and LIN.

The FlexRay integration will be available from July 2007.
