The new Mini-Router is a cost efficient stand alone desktop router for PCB panel topside routing. Mini-Router offers an accurate routing system with clean cutting result for the telecommunication, automotive, consumer and electronics industries. Small footprint and flexibility enables diverse possibilities to use the router in production. Several Mini-Routers can be used as the main routing equipment prod-ucing the same product or for small batch production if production line set-up costs for new product are too expensive. Mini-Router can also be used as back-up equipment e.g. if in-line router is down.
Mini-Router is used manually. Operator places the PCB panel onto the fixture and the top side routing happens by using Cartesian box robot with XYZ axes and high frequency spindle. Cutting speed can be up to 60 mm/s (2.4'/s), depending on the layout and material of routed product. Cutting accuracy is ±0.2 mm (±0.008').
The Stand Alone Mini-Router is presented at Apex 2005 exhibition in Anaheim, CA, USA on February 22 - 24, 2005 at hall D, booth 275.
