EB Automotive Newsletter 03/2009

April 9, 2009

Dear Subscriber,

Not a day goes by without hearing in the news that investments have been cut - again - due to the global economic crisis. Even so, it is now more important than ever not just to sit and wait for the right circumstances, but to make them when they can't be found.

You can read about some of the changes EB is making in this latest newsletter and I would like to point you to a couple of these.

First, and I am proud to say this, our navigation software EB street director is one of the first solutions to offer users with up-to-date POI information on different software platforms using online services such as Live Search for Devices or Google Local Search.

I would also like to take the opportunity and invite you to visit a Blog, created by colleagues of mine and which contains Tips, Tricks & News around Microsoft's Windows Embedded operating systems. If you think Blogs are a great way of sharing information and you would like to see EB doing more of this please drop us a line at www.discovertheexperience.blogspot.com.

Additionally you can read about EB's latest Success Stories as well as which events we are attending. So please, if you are also at one of the upcoming events, come and talk with us to discuss which new ways we can go - together.

  Happy Easter!

  Sincerely yours,
  Damian Barnett

AUTOSAR Technology Day in Wolfsburg, Germany

On February 19, 2009 EB Automotive Software organized a Technology Day focusing on the automotive software standard AUTOSAR. The event was held at the Autostadt (Automobile City) Wolfsburg, Germany. VW and its suppliers were interested in learning about the implications that AUTOSAR has on the day-to-day work in their ECU software (electronic control unit software) development departments.

In order to spark interest among the experts at VW and their Tier1 suppliers we showed them how their ECU development projects can benefit from adopting the AUTOSAR standard. We also explained how EB's experience in running projects in ECU software development can help the departments within Volkswagen and its suppliers complete their projects successfully.

EB provided information on the AUTOSAR standard through several presentations, practical demonstrations as well as individual consultation. For those interested EB supplied additional literature on the subject. The feedback we collected from the visitors was very positive and many wished for us to came back next year.
