EB Automotive Software Newsletter -
Issue 05/2009
December 07, 2009
Dear Subscriber,
Welcome to the winter edition of the EB Automotive Software Newsletter.
I started at EB in November as new Vice President of Engineering Infotainment. During the last 14 years I worked for different companies, responsible for the technology development of high and mid end navigation systems.
Software development for infotainment systems is a significant investment for system providers who use their own developed software applications only for their products. That is why EB software products are very valuable for those providers to gain cost savings and technology advantages. One step further, they even look for complete software solutions including system integration scalable towards their hardware needs.
EB is already in a very good position with its white label infotainment products offering customized software suites that really fit the very specific needs of each customer - whether OEM or Tier1. With complementing engineering services EB offers know-how for complete integrated software solutions. Take a look at the article "EB receives Frost & Sullivan award for its versatile product line strategy". This honors the capability of EB to deliver scalable software for market requirements.
As the number ONE software solution provider in automotive infotainment, we will continue to move forward: Driver assistance is already part of our product portfolio. In the near future we will enrich our software solutions with new technologies in areas such as energy efficiency and communication.
I'm pleased to be a part of EB now and I'm looking forward to working with you!
Season's Greetings!
Sincerely yours,
Markus Schupfner
Vice President Engineering Infotainment,

New EB GUIDE Studio Version Upcoming
From December 2009 on you may benefit from the valuable new features of EB GUIDE Studio 4.2:
Reduce efforts for modeling views by modeling widgets more efficiently and adapting the template only once when you change the instances of a template.
Benefit from the enhanced simulation debugger with more details and information, halt and execute the simulation step-by-step.
Create and maintain speech dialog based on an existing graphical specification easily by modeling speech in parallel and closely to GUI when you define commands/prompts for widgets.
Integrate swf files directly into EB GUIDE Studio with the 'Adobe® Flash® Plugin'. The lightweight 'Flash Widget' component can be placed inside any 'container widget' for enabling data and event exchanges and you will be able to integrate swf files directly.
